The more I look around and travel, the more I’m convinced that the world is changing at an enormous speed. I’m not talking about the change in the way we perceived it for years. It’s the end of an era and almost everything that used to work just doesn’t work anymore. We’re forced to Rethink Everything!
This drastic change is driven by several elements.
-First the internet has grown and is widely accepted as a sales channel, a service channel, a customer care channel and a delivery channel;
-Second sustainability screams for attention. As the end of fossil fuel comes closer and the urge to save the earth finally starts to get some attention. A new challenge in the way we produce and consume imposes itself;
-Third Technology has reached new boundaries, which offers new never imagined possibilities.
-And Fourth most important: People have changed. People are connected, spread their opinions and influence their network continuously. They act online and are more than ever better informed. This is the most important driver and the starting point for every change we want to consider.
The starting point, the promise that you make to your customers, in many cases is not very clear and therefore we always start with questioning what, why and how. We really believe it’s very important to understand your Promise and to define the customer pain you want to fulfill. If you’re products and services do not solve a specific valuable pain there’s actually no reason for existence.
Your promise and the way you deliver it becomes your brand. Before this questions are clear it doesn’t make sense to start thinking about new ideas, products or services. A clear promise is necessary for all stakeholders involved in order to build trust and to stay ahead.
Nevertheless it seems that most companies still don’t really accept the new world and don’t even try to understand the speed of change. Unfortunately this will lead to delay and once you’re off track turning back is very difficult. Compare it with a car which stops while the passenger keep moving, they’ll go through the window…
Do you know your promise? Let us know, as we’re very curious!
